3R's - Reading Rock and Roll Club

Keeping Jive alive in memory of Bill Cotterell

Club History

The 3R's Rock 'n' Roll is a 50's style Jive club based in Reading, a town in the Thames Valley on junction 11 of the M4, in the UK. The club was started in 1991 by 10 people who had no where to jive, so they hired a church hall, took a record player along, enjoyed the evening and the 3R's club was born. Five of the original people still run the club, all for their love of Rock'n'Roll as none of the committee get paid. All money  raised is put back into the club, The club has had over 200 members each year for the last 10 years, the committee feels we must be doing something right as the club is going from strength to strength. The club  celebrated it's 13th birthday bash in April 2004 The club  changed venue in January 2004 and  now meet every  3rd Friday of each calendar month at READING CIVIL SERVICE CLUB (see how to find us page this site) Most rock'n'roll folk have heard of "Jive Jive Jive" an all-dayer run by the club at Rivermead Leisure Complex Reading at the end of May every year for the last 10 years.
